This post was requested by one of my readers and it is something I am very conscious about myself. Living in the Caribbean means tank tops and sleeveless dresses to combat the heat. But it also means exposing your underarms on a regular basis. Dark , discoloured armpits are however quite the unsightly distraction. Here are 4 cheap and easy methods to keeping those pits pretty.
1). Always shave with a sharp razor
Ok go to your bathroom now and throw away all of your dull razors .Using a sharp razor will ultimately give you the cleanest shave which will minimize the look of dark armpits caused by stubble. If you do wax , it is important to remove all excess wax from your armpit as this can also give the illusion of dark armpits.
2). Use lemon as a natural bleaching agent.
Now that you’re shaving with sharp razors but still left with dark marks try bleaching , but not chemical bleaching ,natural bleaching. Cut a slice of lemon and rub it unto your arms before you shower. After your shower rinse off completely. Lemon is also a natural deodorant so those pits will be smelling fresh and keeping odor at bay.
3). Exfoliate your armpits
Dead skin causes the appearance of dark armpits so the best remedy is to regularly get rid of the dead skin by exfoliating your pits. You can use either an exfoliating scrub or an exfoliating pad. Pennywise Cosmetics sells exfoliating pads for under $10 TTD at the facial counter. I have also seen them in SuperPharm in the facial isle.
4.) Use baking soda
Mix baking soda and water into a thick paste and apply to your underarms. Leave on for 5 mins and then rinse off completely. Baking soda is a deodorizer, exfoliant and will gently fade dark armpits.
I hope this helps ! If you have any additional remedies please feel free to comment below 🙂

How do you combat the stresses of life ? I think a great way to relax is to spend a day at the spa.Now a spa not only relaxes your mind and body, but it helps you look your best and when you look good …you feel good ! One of my favourite spas in Trinidad has to be the Ooh La La Nail Bar and Luxury Spa located in D’abadie .This spa offers a variety of luxury services such as manicures, pedicures, massages, waxing etc at affordable prices. What differentiates this spa from others, was the exceptional customer service by the owner Rochelle. All customers are treated to her warm and professional personality and this definitely contributes to an even more relaxing spa experience. I got the classic french manicure at my last visit ( see pic below) but I definitely want to try some nail art next time, because Rochelle has got some mad skills yo! Lol
Check out some of her work below and give her a visit soon:)

DIY : Mango and Honey Face Mask
I love incorporating local fruits into my beauty regimen and mango is definitely one of my favourites. Now this mask is great because mangoes contain high levels of beta-carotene , vitamin C and fruit acids which act as gentle exfoliators and honey absorbs the impurities in your skin,so it is great for treating acne and blemishes and also leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized all day .
1 face of a mango
1 half teaspoon of honey
Mash mango cubes and honey together until you get a smooth consistency.
Your face should feel significantly softer and tighter afterwards 🙂
Stay tuned for more beauty DIY’s.
